Awe and Wonder

In September 2019 a new OFSTED inspection framework called on schools to celebrate the substance of what is at the heart of their educational provision.

With over two hundred infant aged pupils at Hindhayes this has to be celebrating the breadth and excitement that we build into our early years and Key Stage one curriculum.

Moments of awe and wonder are so important when you take your first school steps and to ensure that these continue to be prioritised and planned for we have listed them here for you in the full leaflet below. Here are some examples!

When working outside we want all children to join in with:

· den building

· experiencing all weathers

· snow angel making

· spider web catching

· muddy puddle jumping

· marshmallow melting

· log pile climbing

· tree swinging

· mud kitchen mixing

· fairy fire lighting

· sand castle building

· kite flying

· tree hugging

· hammock lounging

· woodland walking

· veggie crop eating

· bubble blowing

· pizza baking
