At Hindhayes we have chosen to use a well recognised scheme to support the teaching of music. This is called charanga. Hindhayes has chosen to deliver Music through a spiral curriculum where children will revisit each theme each half-term to ensure that learning and skills are not lost but are built on and developed. The map below highlights the core knowledge and skills for each year group within the music themes of Listen and Appraise, Games, Singing, Playing, Improvisation, Composition and Performance. In the EYFS children have planned experiences, music and vocabulary to ensure that they are ready for the Key Stage One Curriculum. At Hindhayes we call our core knowledge 'sticky learning'.
