During European week all the year groups studied a different country in Europe. Year 2 learnt about Italy, Year 1 France and Reception Germany. The children found these countries on maps, identified the correct flags and used information books to find interesting facts. They also solved problems finding out how many different ways the flags could be coloured and how many triangles fitted on the Eifel Tower. They all learnt songs and simple phrases in the language of the country they were studying. Children visited other classrooms and shared their learning in a special assembly. The highlight of the week was a food tasting session where all the children tried traditional food from the three countries.
