Quad development April 2016
I am not sure who has been more excited this week the children or the staff! Both little and big noses have been pressed against the safety fencing watching the landscapers developing the area for us. We have been working on this project since the end of the summer term 2015 and we are confident the design will excite and engage our pupils when they are at play. I know many families are delighted that the pond will now be remaining as it is an important part of many past pupils’ memories. The pond will now become the central feature; it will be cleaned the stones and statues will be replaced and pupils will be able to safely access the area with adult support through safety gates. Around the outside will be a mud kitchen area, wild garden, sand pit, water wall, bamboo musical garden, new trees, activity sheds, fossils and rainbow pebbles, areas for seating and sail, robina and wigwam walkways. The space will create natural journeys through, over, in, out, under and along bridges, tunnels, mounds and paths. It will be something different from the provision that other early years settings have. We are hoping that the development will be completed by the end of this month.
