Easter 2 week holiday – Food vouchers for FSM eligible children: Dear All – As you may be aware the Director for Children's Services has agreed to fund Free School Meal vouchers for the upcoming April 2024, 2-week Holiday. This means that Hindhayes will be allocated some funds from the Government and for these families, I have organised for you to receive your child's voucher electronically via email from Thursday 28th March. The funding allocated is £10 per child, per week (£20) for the holiday period. For any families where your financial circumstances may have changed or you are unsure of your entitlement, you can contact the school office by emailing (Office@Hindhayes.co.uk). Alternatively, please complete this link below which is a very straightforward online form, which takes less than 5 minutes to complete and will go directly to colleagues at County Hall to check eligibility: For eligible families, it means you receive the support you are entitled to as well as Hindhayes receiving the correct funding into the budget at this increasingly challenging period for all schools. Free school meals (somerset.gov.uk) If there are any queries or you need any help, please contact the school office through the above email, thank you.

After listening to feedback from many parents last year we have made the decision to reintroduce dressing up. We would love to welcome the children into school on Friday 8th March dressed as a favourite story character, You could have a full costume or just a top or hat to show who they are. For children who may feel uncomfortable in character clothes, they can always choose to be an everyday character from a story who wears normal home clothes such as Horrid Henry or Matilda. We would request that children do not come to school with masks or costumes that cover their faces. Children will need to be able to learn. We also request that any small items that go with costumes such as tiara's, handbags, swords and guns are also kept safely at home to avoid any upset children if items get lost or broken. Book vouchers can be spent at The Works, Clarks Village.
